As part of the pre-production for our Digital News unit, we sat down with Helen for a development meeting.
DEVELOPMENT MEETING WITH HELEN
During this meeting we confirmed all of our contributors (Katie), our locations (The Maidstone Studios), our presenters (me and George), and our stories (viral videos). We also confirmed that we had risk assessed everything, and booked our equipment.
When discussing our current ideas for the live package, Helen mentioned that it didn't really seem like that much was going on. She thought we needed to do something that would keep the audience interested and watching for the full two minutes. We spoke about possibly attempting to complete a viral challenge live on the show. I brought up the very popular, and current, water bottle challenge, and suggested that we could put two students up against one another to see who could flip the most bottles. Helen really liked this idea, so we decided to continue developing it in our next meeting.
