As part of our viral videos news package, we decided that we would attempt to go viral. To do this, we have created two videos, one with a low production value, and one with a high production value. This will allow us to investigate whether people think production value is more important that content or vice versa. These are the videos we produced.
THAT ONE FRIEND YOU JUST HATE... (LOW PRODUCTION VALUE)
This video was produced by Nisserin, Ida, and Becca. They decided to attack me with paper balls for a few days and film it for everyones entertainment. The video is very funny, and has a production value of basically nothing. I think this one will be the most popular.
Filmed on iPhones. Edited on Adobe Premiere Pro, but can easily be edited on any program, or phone app.
WHEN YOUR CAT HATES YOU... (HIGH PRODUCTION VALUE)
This video was produced by me, based on the research Nisserin carried out. The idea is based on the fact that everyone's cat secretly hates them, but in this situation, the cat can speak, and so expresses its hatred. The video fits into the high production value category because it was filmed with a professional level camera, edited with professional editing software, and uses visual effects. I don't think this one will be as popular.
Filmed on a Canon EOS M. Edited on Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Audition.
Both videos will be uploaded to our Facebook page at the same time, and shared in the same way. We will also submit our videos to TheLadBible, who take video submissions in an attempt to share the next viral hit before anyone else.
We hope these videos are successful, and if they are, it will be great for our news story.
