Digital News: Logo Development

A logo is probably one of the most important parts of a brand, and so it was important to us that our one was good.

TEMPORARY LOGO

After our first few meetings, we created a temporary logo to use on all of our initial designs. This is the temporary logo we created:

From the beginning we knew we wanted our logo should have a Yak in it as the show is called Student Yak. To add the student theme, we thought it'd be great if the yak wore a graduation cap. The temporary logo gives you a good idea of what we would like.

Ida mentioned that her friend was a graphic designer, so we thought it'd be great if a graphic designer could design a proper logo. Ida passed on our ideas, and our temporary logo.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER SUGGESTIONS

After receiving our ideas, and our temporary designer, these are the designs Ida's friend came up with:

We really liked the designs and we thought they looked great, however we didn't feel they fit our brand. I think if we decided to go with one of these designs, we would have to change some of our other branding. We really appreciated the work Ida's friend had done for us, but after some group discussion, we felt the logos were a bit too serious for our brand.

We decided to adapt our temporary logo into something we could use as our final logo.

Nisserin spent some time working on our temporary design, making some changes so it fit our brand even more. This is what she came up with:

We sat down as a group and discussed the design of the logo. We made a few adjustments to Nisserin's design, and eventually we had a logo:

We love the final logo design and we think it fits our brand perfectly. We will now update all of our branding and add the new logo.
